1. Overview
The Local Directory is operated by Invisyn Solutions as part of The Local Communities. We collect only the information needed to publish accurate local business listings, manage member accounts, process membership billing, and send our optional weekly community newsletter.
2. Public Business Listings & Home-Based Privacy
Information you enter for your public directory listing (business name, category, description, phone, website, public email, hours, and service areas) is displayed publicly so neighbors can find and contact your business.
Home-based businesses: If your business operates from a residential address, we do not display your street number publicly unless you explicitly opt in to show your exact street address. By default, home-based businesses show only their city, state, ZIP code, and service areas.
3. Account Sign-In & Membership Billing
Member accounts use encrypted authentication cookies to keep you signed in. Membership payments are processed directly by Stripe; The Local Directory never stores raw credit card numbers on its servers.
4. The Local Communities Newsletter
When you subscribe to This Week in Lee's Summit or opt in during member onboarding, your email address is sent to The Local Communities newsletter list (`thelocalcommunities.com`). Every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we never sell subscriber email addresses.
5. Contact & Removal Requests
You can edit your business listing at any time from your member account, or contact us via The Local Communities contact page to request account or data removal.
